About Us

The Monroe Arts Council was created in 1995 by concerned county residents as a vehicle to supplement the ever increasing cuts to local school district Arts Education.  22 years later, arts have been nearly totally eliminated from our schools.

The Council is a non-profit that offers public membership.  The work of the Council and its groups is funded entirely by the generous donations of local citizens and event proceeds.

The Monroe Arts Council continues to promote and develop the talents and heritage of local residents, while at the same time broadening our exposure to art experiences through a variety of opportunities offered to students and local residents.

Your tax deductible donation enables the Monroe Arts Council in the support and establishment of a variety of programming.  As funding increases, so will programs.
